Project Summary
Twin Falls contracted with Civil Science,
Inc. to complete an update to the Twin Falls Transportation Master Plan.
This Master Plan will provide a focus and transportation vision for our
growing community, will set transportation objectives, identify proposed
improvement projects and implementation plans for the City's
transportation system to meet the community’s transportation needs
through the year 2030.
Municipalities use transportation planning studies to
look ahead at possible transportation problems with sustained growth,
and to evaluate funding options in order to help pay for future transportation
infrastructure. This prior planning allows Twin Falls to take steps over
time to alleviate some of the problems that may arise with their
transportation infrastructure. This study
focuses on evaluation of current City facilities to support the
development of a capital facility program for
the next 20 to 25 years. Some issues that have been addressed in the Twin
Falls plan include:
- Development of New Transportation Facilities to Accommodate the
City's Growth
- Traffic Safety and Congestion
- Bicycle and Pedestrian Needs
- Truck Access Needs
- Future Projects and Street Maintenance
